About willow Haven
Our Philosophy
At Willow Haven, we believe early childhood education should feel secure, unhurried, and deeply respectful of each child’s individuality.
Our philosophy centers on:
Building trust through consistent relationships
Encouraging independence through guided exploration
Honoring childhood as a time of curiosity, movement, and creativity
We do not rush development. Instead, we meet children where they are, offering gentle guidance, predictable routines, and opportunities for meaningful learning through real-world experiences.
Our program is thoughtfully designed around three foundational pillars:
Intentional Care
With a maximum of five children, we provide attentive, responsive care that allows each child to feel seen, heard, and valued.
Inspired Learning
Rooted in Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies, our learning environment supports practical life skills, creativity, and child-led exploration.
Refined Simplicity
Our home-based setting offers warmth and familiarity while maintaining clear structure, safety policies, and professional communication.

Meet the Caregiver Behind Willow Haven
Farida Mohammed
Willow Haven Early Learning Program was founded from a deep understanding of what young children truly need in their earliest years: stability, presence, and a calm environment where they feel secure enough to explore the world with confidence.
After 6 years of working closely with children and families, our founder ( Farida) recognized a growing gap between traditional childcare models and what many families were genuinely seeking. Large group settings, frequent staff changes, and overstimulating environments often left children overwhelmed and families disconnected.
Willow Haven was created as a response to that gap. Willow Haven is a private, unlicensed in-home program, allowing tuition to reflect the full cost of premium care, enriched programming, and individualized attention without the limitations of regulated fee caps.
This residence was intentionally designed to offer a refined, relationship-based alternative, one where children are cared for in a peaceful home environment, guided by consistent routines, and supported through meaningful, developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
Rooted in Montessori principles and inspired by Reggio Emilia philosophy, the program reflects a belief that children thrive when they are respected as capable individuals and given space to learn through hands-on exploration, creativity, and real-world experiences.
At Willow Haven, care is not rushed, communication is not automated, and relationships are not transactional. Families are known. Children are deeply understood. And each day is approached with presence, professionalism, and care.
Licensed vs. Unlicensed Care ( In Willow Haven’s Case)
Why Families Choose Willow Haven
Families often ask about the difference between licensed and unlicensed home childcare. While both models can offer quality care, they operate under very different structures. Willow Haven Early Learning Program was intentionally designed to serve families who are seeking a private, elevated experience without the limitations of regulated fee models.
Licensed Home Childcare
Licensed home daycares are governed by strict regulatory frameworks, including fixed fee caps and subsidy participation. While these programs can provide safe and structured care, the regulated fee structure often limits flexibility in programming, materials, meals, staffing time, and enrichment. Providers must operate within predetermined financial parameters, which can restrict the ability to invest beyond baseline requirements.
The Willow Haven Difference
Willow Haven operates as a private, unlicensed in-home early learning residence by choice. This model allows tuition to accurately reflect the true cost of delivering a premium experience—one that prioritizes quality, sustainability, and individualized care over volume or standardization.
By remaining independent of regulated fee caps, Willow Haven is able to:
Invest in whole-foods meals and elevated nutrition standards
Integrate enrichment programming as part of daily learning, not as add-ons
Maintain refined materials and thoughtfully designed environments
Allocate meaningful time for observation, planning, and communication
Operate sustainably without compromising standards or care quality
This structure allows Willow Haven to function more like a private educational residence than a traditional childcare service.
A Matter of Choice, Not Compliance
Both licensed and unlicensed programs serve important roles. Willow Haven is best suited for families who value autonomy, transparency, and a premium, private-pay model that supports a higher standard of care—free from the constraints of regulated pricing.
For families seeking an intentionally curated early learning experience, Willow Haven offers a clear and confident alternative.
